David's Charge to Solomon
1 Chronicles 28
David assembles the leaders of Israel and tells them that though he desired to build a house for the ark, the Lord chose Solomon his son to build the temple instead, because David was a man of war. He gives Solomon the divinely given plan for the temple, its furnishings, and its courses of service, and charges him to be strong and carry out the work.
