1 Chronicles 27

The twelve military divisions of twenty-four thousand men, each serving one month of the year, are listed along with their commanders, followed by the chiefs of each tribe of Israel. The chapter also names the overseers of David's fields, flocks, and treasuries, and lists the king's counselors and closest officials.

ThomsonWITH regard to the sons of Israel according to their number, the chiefs of the families, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, and the muster masters—these attended the king, and were ready at every call of the king in divisions, coming in and going out, month after month, each division consisting of twenty-four thousand.
