A History of Rebellion
Ezekiel 20
When elders come to inquire of the Lord, he refuses to be inquired of and instead recounts through Ezekiel the repeated rebellion of Israel from Egypt through the wilderness, where they rejected his statutes and profaned his sabbaths despite his mercy in sparing them for his name's sake. The Lord nevertheless promises to gather Israel again from the nations, judge them face to face as in the wilderness, and bring them back to serve him on his holy mountain.
