Reuben and Gad Settle East of Jordan

Numbers 32

Seeing that the land of Jazer and Galaad suits their large herds, the tribes of Ruben and Gad ask Moses for that territory instead of crossing into Chanaan. Moses grants their request on the condition that their armed men first cross over and fight alongside the other tribes until the land is conquered.
