Joshua's Commission

Joshua 1

After the death of Moses, the Lord speaks to Joshua and commands him to lead the people across the Jordan into the land, promising to be with him as he was with Moses if he is strong, courageous, and obedient to the law. Joshua charges the people to prepare to cross, and the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half of Manasse pledge to go armed before their brethren and to obey him.
