The Latter Glory of the House

Haggai 2

The Lord encourages Zorobabel, Jesus the high priest, and the people not to be discouraged that the new temple seems smaller than the former one, promising to shake the heavens and the nations and to fill this house with a glory greater than before, along with peace. Through a ruling sought from the priests on holiness and defilement, Aggaeus shows that the people's uncleanness had spoiled their labors, but the Lord promises blessing from that day forward, and declares that he will overthrow kingdoms and choose Zorobabel as his signet.
