The Tribal Allotments and the City
Ezekiel 48
The land is divided in parallel strips from north to south among the tribes, with a central holy portion set apart for the sanctuary, the priests descended from Sadduc, the Levites, the city, and the prince. The chapter closes by describing the city's measurements and its twelve gates, each named for one of the tribes of Israel, and giving the name by which the city will be called.
