Jerusalem as an Unfaithful Wife
Ezekiel 16
The Lord recounts Jerusalem's origins as an abandoned infant whom he rescued, raised, and adorned in splendor, only to have her trust in her own beauty and commit spiritual harlotry with foreign nations and idols, even sacrificing her children to them, surpassing the sins of her neighbors Samaria and Sodom. Despite pronouncing shame and judgment upon her, the Lord promises to remember his covenant made in her youth and to establish an everlasting covenant with her.
