Elijah Taken Up to Heaven

2 Kings 2

As the Lord is about to take Elijah up in a whirlwind, Elisha refuses to leave his side through Bethel, Jericho, and the Jordan, which Elijah parts with his mantle. After Elijah is carried up into heaven in a fiery chariot, Elisha receives his mantle and spirit, parts the Jordan in turn, heals the waters of Jericho, and pronounces judgment on a band of mocking children.
