Solomon's Fall into Idolatry

1 Kings 11

In his old age Solomon's many foreign wives turn his heart after their gods, so that he builds high places to Chamos and other idols and provokes the Lord to declare that the kingdom will be torn from his son, and the chapter recounts the rise of the adversaries Ader, Esrom, and Jeroboam, to whom the prophet Achia promises ten tribes, before Solomon dies and Roboam succeeds him.
