The Second Census

Numbers 26

The Lord commands Moses and Eleazar to number the men of Israel able to go to war, tribe by tribe and family by family, in preparation for dividing the land by lot. The census records the totals for each tribe and notes that, except for Caleb and Joshua, none of those numbered earlier in the wilderness remain alive.
