Water from the Rock and the Death of Aaron
Numbers 20
Mariam dies at Cades, and when the people again lack water, Moses strikes the rock with his rod instead of speaking to it, and the Lord tells him and Aaron that neither will enter the land because of this. Edom refuses to let Israel pass through its territory, and Aaron dies on Mount Or after his priestly garments are transferred to his son Eleazar.
