The Order of the Camps

Numbers 2

The Lord gives instructions for how the tribes of Israel are to encamp and march, arranged in four groups of three tribes each around the tabernacle, with named princes over each division and their numbered forces. The Levites camp nearest the tabernacle itself, and the people obey this order exactly as commanded.
