Jeremiah 38

The Lord promises to rebuild Israel like a virgin restored to dancing and gladness, gathering the scattered from the ends of the earth and turning their weeping, including Rachel's weeping for her children, into consolation. He declares that the days are coming when he will make a new covenant with Israel and Judah, writing his law on their hearts and forgiving their sins, and that Jerusalem itself will be rebuilt as holy to the Lord.
