Jeremiah 28

The Lord continues his sentence against Babylon, describing a destroying wind, a besieging army, and the shattering of her idols, her walls, and her king, while contrasting the true God who made heaven and earth with the lifeless idols Babylon trusts. The chapter ends with Jeremiah writing all these words in a book and instructing Seraiah to read them aloud in Babylon, then bind the scroll to a stone and cast it into the Euphrates as a sign that Babylon will sink and never rise again.
