The True Shepherd and False Prophets
Jeremiah 23
The Lord condemns the shepherds who have scattered his people and promises to gather the remnant and raise up a righteous king from David's line who will reign with justice and judgment. He then pronounces judgment on the false prophets of Jerusalem and Samaria, who prophesy lies and false dreams out of their own hearts rather than speaking the true word of the Lord.
