Isaiah 44

The Lord promises to pour his blessing and Spirit upon Jacob's descendants and declares that he alone is God, the first and the last. He mocks the maker of idols who fashions a god from the same wood used for fuel and cooking, calls Israel to remember him and turn back for forgiveness, and names Cyrus as the one through whom Jerusalem and its temple will be rebuilt.
