The Covenant of Circumcision

Genesis 17

The Lord appears to the ninety-nine-year-old Abram, renames him Abraam and his wife Sarrha, and promises that despite their old age Sarrha will bear a son to be called Isaac, through whom the covenant will continue. God establishes circumcision as the everlasting sign of this covenant, and Abraam circumcises himself, Ismael, and every male of his household.
