The Journey of Esdras

Ezra 8

Esdras lists the family heads and men who journeyed with him from Babylon, arranges for Levites and temple servants to join the company after none are found at first, and proclaims a fast to seek a safe journey from the Lord rather than request a military escort. He entrusts the silver, gold, and sacred vessels to appointed priests, and the company arrives safely in Jerusalem, delivering the treasures and offering sacrifices.
