The Passover

Exodus 12

The Lord institutes the Passover, instructing each household to take a lamb, mark their doorposts with its blood, and eat it roasted with unleavened bread and bitter herbs so that the destroyer will pass over their houses. At midnight the Lord strikes every firstborn in Egypt, and Pharao sends Israel out of the land, where they depart in haste after four hundred and thirty years, along with rules for who may keep the Passover.
