Not Your Own Righteousness

Deuteronomy 9

Moses warns Israel that the Lord is not giving them the land because of their own righteousness, since they are a stubborn people, and recalls how they made a golden calf while he was on the mountain receiving the tables of stone. He describes how he broke the tables in anger and then fasted and interceded before the Lord on Israel's behalf.
