A Warning Against Idolatry

Deuteronomy 4

Moses urges Israel to keep the commandments exactly as given, reminding them that they saw no form when the Lord spoke to them out of the fire at Horeb, and warns them sternly against making any carved image, lest they be scattered among the nations for it. He also sets apart three cities east of the Jordan as places of refuge for anyone who kills a neighbor unintentionally.
