David and Goliath

1 Samuel 17

The Philistine champion Goliath of Geth defies the armies of Israel for forty days while no one dares face him, until David, sent by his father to bring supplies to his brothers, hears the challenge and offers to fight him; refusing Saul's armor, David goes out with his sling and stones, kills Goliath with a single stone, and beheads him with the giant's own sword, putting the Philistine army to flight.

ThomsonNOW the Philistines had assembled their armies for battle, and having formed a junction at Socchoth of Judea, they encamped between Socchoth and Azeka-Aphesdommin.
